Robert Toms

Chairman of the Board

Robert is a Managing Director at Smedvig Capital, which he joined in 2001. He has broad experience in consumer goods, support services, financial services, property and clean technologies.

Prior to joining Smedvig, Robert was a director at Jardine International Motors, a $4bn auto industry group, where he was responsible for strategy and M&A, completing transactions both in Europe and in the US. Previously he spent six years in strategy consulting at Bain & Company, leading assignments on strategic, operational and organisational issues for clients in a variety of sectors. He has an MBA with distinction from London Business School.

He is a board member at several other companies in which Smedvig has an investment or acts as an advisor: Exchange Group, My Home Move, Tusker and PPC in the UK; Joma International and Clean Marine in Norway; 3GSolar in Israel.
